1960 Buick Invicta Convertible

The opportunity to purchase a 1960 Buick Invicta convertible came up, and I couldn’t say no!  Don’t worry, this car won’t be too much of a distraction from the focus on the Flat-Top project. This Buick will replace my rather rough 1965 Impala Convertible, which wasn’t really my style anyway. If it doesn’t have excessive chrome and fins, it’s just too new! Anyway, my friend Korey offered me the car at a very fair price so I decided I better get it. I’ve always liked the styling of 1960 Buicks, and this one being a rag-top made it too cool to resist!  When it comes to classic Chevy’s I tend to prefer a mostly stock appearance, but I think this Buick may just get a mild custom treatment. Check out the restoration blog at www.60buick.com.

  1. Yeah, the custom look is cool, I still like the more standard sized wheels with traditional caps. While I’m easily confused when it comes to Buick, they do have some beautiful shape. The 59 is a great looking car for a variety of elements, but the 60 with that bit of sculpting coming off the head light bezel — more modern than tomorrow.

  2. Hi Dave,
I too am restoring a 60′ Invicta convertible. I’ve completed the frame, brakes, exhaust, engine, suspension and most of the body work. Wrestling with the wiring and electrical now. Keep posting pictures as you progress.
