1960 Chevrolet Nomad 4 door station wagon
The Chevrolet Nomad was essentially a station wagon with Impala trim and interior. The Nomad name, having been in use since 1955 no longer was applied to a 2-door wagon, but only 4-door wagons starting in 1959. This Nomad wagon is equipped with some rare options. Dealer installed "Cool-Pack" air conditioning, roof rack, power seat, power windows, rocker mouldings, cruise cruise control and a 348 V8 with tri-power in addition to the more common options of power steering, power brakes and a padded dash.
The "Cool-Pack" air conditioning was a dealer installed option, and was never installed at the factory. Factory air conditioning, called "All weather air conditioning" by Chevrolet, was integrated into the heating system and came with special kick panel vents, dash vents and an under-dash control unit.
Nomad wagons came with special aluminum trim panel around the tail lights and on the tailgate that looked similar to what the Impala came with. Other wagon models did not have this piece of decorative trim.
